Founder and Designer, Wendy
DeFeudis, launched VeryWendy Designs and Promotions in 2002,
setting new trends in social and business communications
by combining a unique mix of style, art and fashion with
creative promotions. Wendy combines more than fifteen years
of fashion design and illustration, public relations and
marketing experience to help clients achieve their communications
objectives.
In 2004, Wendy created “VeryWendy’s Social Emergency
Kit,” a collection of 20 different greeting cards for
every social occasion. Recognizing the need to have greeting
cards on hand, this unique product was recognized as the
#1 trend product for 2006 and was featured in the leading
greeting card trade publications, Gifts & Accessories
Magazine and Greetings, Etc. The kit was also featured in
W, Elle, InStyle, NY Daily News and Parenting Magazine. VeryWendy’s
Social Emergency Kit was sold online at VeryWendy.com, in
retail outlets throughout the country and at several on-line
boutiques.
With a keen eye for fashion, style and trends, Wendy combines
her artistic and business acumen to offer clients truly unique
and creative ways to meet their goals.
Along with creative promotions and public relations, Wendy
is an Artist for Hire at special events, creating one-of-a
kind art on t-shirts, including watercolors and personalized
fashion illustrations.
Prior to launching VeryWendy
Designs, Wendy spent a year at Milan’s premier fashion university, Istituto Marangoni,
studying with some of the world’s top fashion instructors.
Before venturing to Italy, Wendy headed up her own public
relations business, DeFeudis Communications, in Boston and
New York. Her marketing and public relations expertise spans
across several vertical industries including: consumer, fashion,
beauty, high technology, internet, art and philanthropic
organizations.
Wendy’s art work has been featured in top fashion,
consumer and lifestyle publications and in broadcast media.
In addition, Wendy was the sole fashion illustrator for Cool
Hair, a book on hair and make up, published by St. Martin’s
press in collaboration with Liz Smith and Diane Sawyer. VeryWendy
frequently donates work to a variety of charities including
New York’s TriBeCa Organization, Central Park Conservation,
GenArt and Breast Cancer Awareness, among others.
Wendy holds a Bachelor of Arts in English
from the College of the Holy Cross and a Fashion Design
Degree from Istituto
Marangoni, Milan Italy. Wendy has traveled around the world,
visiting Nepal, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Egypt and
India. She is an avid runner and ran the Boston Marathon,
raising money for cancer research. Wendy currently lives
in New York City with her Westie, “Dolce.”
